ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 gets vibrant Google Doodle on its opening day
Google celebrates the commencement of the highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with a colorful doodle
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 fever has taken over Google as it changed the icon into a captivating and vibrant Doodle on its opening day.
The 13th edition of this highly anticipated tournament for cricket enthusiasts, hosted by India, begins in Ahmedabad with an exciting match between last season's finalists, England and New Zealand.
Google marked this momentous occasion by featuring a special Doodle.
The animated Google Doodle showcases two animated ducks energetically running between the wickets.
Each of these green ducks holds a cricket bat, and a cheering crowd of spectators fills the stands.
Notably, the cricket bat theme is incorporated into the word "Google" in the Doodle, replacing the "L" in the logo. By clicking on the Doodle, users can access the full schedule of the ICC World Cup 2023.
The group stage of the tournament will consist of 45 matches, with each team playing against every other team once.
The participating teams this year include Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.
The knockout stage will see only four teams progressing, with two semi-final matches and the cup final scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad.
Matches will be held across various Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dharamsala, and Pune.
The tournament will run for more than six weeks and will see 10 teams compete for cricket’s most coveted trophy.
