Suzanne Somers died on October 15, 2023, one day before celebrating her 77th birthday
Suzanne Somers’ family has celebrated the late actress' birthday while setting up “a Tribute Book” on her official website.
The renowned star known for her roles in Three's Company and Step by Step, died “peacefully at home”, surrounded by her family members on Sunday morning.
Suzanne’s official social media account shared a video clip of her family singing “Happy Birthday” one day after she passed away.
Taking to Instagram, the official account wrote, “Thank you for the out-pouring of love and affection for Suzanne. So many of you have asked what you can do to support our family. The most comforting gesture for us is to hear how Suzanne affected all of your lives.”
The statement further read, “We have set up a Tribute Book at SuzanneSomers.com (direct link in bio) and we would greatly appreciate it if you would add your comments. It helps for us to hear how her legacy of love lives on in all of you.”
Suzanne’s husband, Alan Hamel, 87, told PEOPLE about the celebration of the late veteran actress’ birthday.
He shared, “We actually toasted, last night we had I think 12 of us here and we all toasted Suzanne. I'm sure we'll do something today. I'm positive we'll do something today. I don't know what it'll be, but it'll involve a lot of cake because Suzanne was crazy for cake.”
While candidly talking about his wife, Hamel revealed that she loved “all cakes” but “red velvet [cake]” was her favourite.
He further added, “if she could get her hands on a red velvet cupcake, that would make her day.”
