Iconic singer Pink shared a deeply personal and harrowing story about a near-fatal drug overdose she experienced in 1995, which took place just weeks before she signed her first record deal.

During the interview with 60 Minutes, she opened up about her troubled childhood, which was marked by the constant turmoil of her parents' tumultuous relationship.

Growing up in such an environment, Pink developed a rebellious and defiant attitude.

She engaged in drug use and even began selling drugs, actions that ultimately led to her expulsion from her family home and her decision to drop out of high school.

This tumultuous period of her life came to a head during a Thanksgiving rave in 1995 when Pink experienced a severe drug overdose.

She recounted consuming substances like ecstasy, angel dust, and crystal. The overdose left her unconscious and teetering on the brink of death.

The interviewer inquired if she had come close to losing her life, to which Pink responded with a resounding "yes."

For Pink, this near-death experience served as a turning point in her life. It became the catalyst for her to leave behind the world of "hard drugs."

Remarkably, just a few weeks later, she secured her first record deal with her R&B girl group, Choice.

Pink has been vocal about her past struggles with drug abuse, and her story underscores the transformative power of personal determination and resilience.
