Maisa Abdel Hadi has been arrested by the Israeli police after she shared a post on her social media in favour of Palestine resistance group Hamas, for its surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Without mentioning the name, the Israeli authorities have shared a statement revealing that they arrested an actress, who lives in the city of Nazareth, on suspicion of expressions of praise [for terror] and hate speech."

The statement said, "The police fight against incitement and support for terrorism continues all the time."

Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, Maisa shared pictures of an 85-year-old hostage Yaffa Adar with laughing emojis, alongwith another photo showcasing Hamas forces breaching Israel’s security barrier.

"Let's go Berlin-style," she wrote in a caption referring to the fall of the Berlin Wall that stood tall separating two Germanys until 1989.


While her co-star Ofer Shechter also criticize the actress saying: "I’m ashamed of you. You should be ashamed of yourself. You live in Nazareth, act and star in our TV shows and films, and then stab us in the back."

Jaafar Farah, who is the attorney on behalf of the actress told AFP, "she is accused of supporting terrorism."

Maisa made it to the list of several other people arrested for sharing any content on their respective platforms, highlighting the ongoing brutality of Israeli forces on Gaza strip.

According to the Hamas government in Gaza, more than 5,000 people have been martyred in Israel's strikes on the coastal territory.

In addition to this, an Arab Israeli singer Dalal Abu Amneh was also arrested for a brief period for sharing pro-Palestine content on his social media.
