Taylor Tomlinson to take over James Corden's slot with new comedy show
The Late Show host Stephen Colbert introduced Taylor Tomlinson as the new host of an upcoming late-night show
Gear up comedy fans! Taylor Tomlinson is joining the lineup of late-night show hosts.
The Late Show host, Stephen Colbert introduced the star comedian as the new host of the upcoming late-night series, After Midnight.
Tomlinson’s hosting gig will start around the early 2024 and would be aired in the same timeslot as, the now, discontinued, The Late Late Show, hosted by James Corden.
After Midnight would be a series revolving around jokes and comedy at midnight.
Tomlinson has routinely made crowds go wild during her comedy special, Quarter Life Crisis, that was brought out on Netflix in 2020. She also hosted a special, Look At You, last year and now, has performed sold-out shows on her, Have It All tour.
Colbert announced Tomlinson as the host after informing his audience that there would be a new late-night show joining the CBS series. After Tomlinson chiming in and joking around for her to be offered the role as the upcoming program’s host, Colbert officially introduced her on stage as one.
After the two sat down, Tomlinson admitted how excited she was for the job.
“I’ve never really had a job,” Tomlinson joked. “No, I ‘ve been doing stand-up since I was sixteen, which is not a job.”
Colbert, being an executive producer on the revival from CBS Studios, Funny or Die and Spartina Industries and as Tomlinson’s new boss, responded, “As it turns out, the best part of having one of these ‘jobs’ is being able to find and hire really good people.”
Towards the end of the show, Tomlinson revealed that her 30th birthday is coming up this week, to which Colbert wished her a happy birthday, adding, “I got you a network show.”
