'Deadpool 3' director reveals key scene inspirited from Star Wars
'Deadpool 3' director drew inspiration for a prime scene of the the movie from Star Wars
Deadpool 3 director, Shawn Levy has revealed how he visualised an important scene of his movie, drawing inspiration from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Levy recalled the "authentic, communal event" of watching a film in a packed cinema and how the audience reacts to different scenes in an essay he wrote for Esquires.
"I vividly remember the scene in which Luke is hiding from Vader in the Emperor's room and Vader gives the speech that ends with 'If you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps your sister will.' It was dead quiet. Pin-drop silence," Levy said explaining his point.
Levy will be paying tribute to the exact scene in his upcoming movie.
"For one key scene in the movie, I said to my stunt and action team, 'Guys, this is the Jedi moment,' I pulled up that scene of Vader and Luke on my phone and restudied how it was photographed, how it was blocked, the framing, the tempo," he said.
Levy expressed his enthusiasm, confident that audiences will easily be able to "see the shot in my Deadpool movie" that has kept him exhilarated all these years.
Deadpool 3 stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin and Rob Delaney. The much-anticipated film is expected to be released in theatres on May 3, 2024.
