Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri, popular South Korean stars have officially ended their relationship after dating for six years.

Both of the actors' agencies, C-Jes Studio for Ryu Jun-yeol and Creative Group ING for Hyeri, have confirmed their breakup on Monday, November 13, 2023.

As reported Soompi, the official joint statement released by their agencies read, "It is true that they broke up."

Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri confirmed their real-life relationship in August 2017 after pictures of them on a sweet riverside date were released by a South Korean media outlet.

The former couple initially met while working together on the set of their hit series  Reply 1988, in which they played friends dealing with love, school, and family in the 1980s.

Their on-screen in Reply 1988 was chemistry was immensely  praised by the fans  at that time.

Soon after the shocking news of their breakup made the headlines, it created a buzz over the internet as  their fans were devastated.

One user expressed heart breaking reaction, commenting, "After 6 years! I was waiting for their marriage."

Another fan wrote,  "Heartbroken day," while the other one said, "Seriously, waiting for their wedding announcement all this time, not a break up announcement."

In Reply 1988, Ryu Jun Yeol's character, Kim Jung Hwan, had feelings for Lee Hyeri's character, Sung Deok Sun, but couldn't end up with her, leaving viewers heartbroken.

The Believer actor aged 37, is recognized for his roles in various films such as The King, A Taxi Driver, Little Forest  and The Night Owl.

Meanwhile, the Tasty Life actress aged 29, started her career as a member of the K-pop girl group Girl’s Day and later ventured into acting.
