Jimmy Kimmel and Nathan Fielder took a hilarious dig at The New York Times review of Emma Stone and Fielder's comedy series The Curse.

During the Thursday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! the Nathan For You star and Kimmel discussed the criticism Fielder received for his character in the comedy series.

As the host discussed the review of their latest series, he recalled that, “Unsettling” and “Brilliant” were two of the words that he had come across, to which Fielder responded saying, “some other words too.”

When asked what the Canadian comedian and actor meant by it, he pointed out a review that The New York Times had published about his and Stone’s acting.

With perfect comedic timing, he whipped the newspaper out of his pockets to give to the 56-year-old host for him to read aloud to the audience. He even had the review highlighted.

The review began all praise for the Cruella actress saying, “Stone is marvelous as Whitney. An influencer for whom life is a permanent live stream she’s always on.”

“Always micro calculating her affect, Stone’s laser precise performance puts across both Whitney’s lack of self-awareness and her genuine charm,” the host continued reading.

While Emma was flattered as Jimmy read the review, he asked Fielder if he wanted to have him continue reading.

Upon the gesture of approval from the Finding Frances  star, Kimmel continued, “Fielder is a more limited stiff actor.”

To this, the audience erupted in laughter while Nathan replied, “I don’t think they know really get what acting is.”

The show led to a humourous turn of events where Nathan said that he himself could “obviously” not call The New York Times to "issue a correction."

As Jimmy was on call to the department of “TV Reviews” an automated message informed that no one was available to respond to which Nathan came prepared with a written note for Jimmy to read.

“Hi, this is Jimmy Kimmel calling. I’m just at home right now reading your newspaper while having an afternoon banana,” the note began, as the audience burst into laughter after hearing this.

“And notice that in your review for the new television series, The Curse, you call Nathan Fielder a limited and stiff actor,” the penned note said.

The host continued, “This is a factual error that must be corrected. I happen to know Nathan personally, he’s one of the loosest guys I’ve ever met.”

A hilarious error occurred when the host misread the word thespian as lesbian.

“And a hardcore lesbian,” the host read with such confidence it made the entire audience laugh to which Nathan corrected that the word was in fact thespian and was mistake made by auto correct.

“Oh thespian,” Jimmy Kimmel then corrected himself.

“Very few actors can play stiff convincingly and Fielder should not be punished for delivering one of the stiffest performances of the year,” the note on his table concluded.
