Humayun Saeed reveals Hamza Ali Abbasi, Fawad Khan may star in ‘Selahaddin Eyyubi’

Humayun Saeed has revealed that Pakistan’s heartthrobs Hamza Ali Abbasi and Fawad Khan might star in Pakistan-Turkish drama, Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi.

The historical drama is dedicated to chronicling the remarkable life of Selahaddin Eyyubi.

During a conversation with Arab News, the Pakistani producers said. “We don't need supermen; we have our real heroes.”

As reported by the producers, Humayun will make appearances in a few episodes of the upcoming season.

The Jawani Phir Nahi Ani star revealed, “Not only me, other top Pakistani actors may also be a part of it. Hamza Ali Abbasi, Adnan Siddiqui, Fawad Khan.”

Humayun added, “The way [Diriliş] Ertugrul aired everywhere internationally whether it was Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Pakistan or even India, this series will also go places.”

Ayesha Omar told the media outlet, “They had to start with Turkish actors, obviously. We are supposed to have our workshops, learn the Turkish language and [then] work with them.”

She further said, “Since I was very young, my mother was really into Islamic history and she used to tell us [about it]. Selahaddin Eyyubi was her favorite character...So, when I told her I was going to audition for this (series), she said ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe it’. It was like her dream come true.”

A few weeks back, Humayun took to Instagram and shared the first teaser of the hit series Selahaddin Eyyubi.

He penned, “First teaser of Selahaddin Eyyubi -- an epic saga of a true warrior king! Be prepared to be taken to an era where unmatched valour & unrelenting honour take center stage.”
