Taylor Swift has been facing backlash for allowing water bottles at the concert after a fan passed away due to “extreme” heatwaves.

Due to “extreme temperatures”, the Lover crooner has postponed her concert in Rio de Janeiro.

During the recent Eras Tour concerts, fans weren't allowed to bring water bottles inside the venue. Due to which, many attendees faced dehydration.

Recently, concertgoers were allowed to bring water bottles inside the venue after a fan lost her life on Friday.

Netzines started flooding the social media to criticize Taylor for taking the necessary step after a fan lost her life.

Taking to X, a user wrote, “it’s absolutely mind-blowing to me that we had to lose one of our own just for this to happen. people spend their hard earned money on concerts to go for an escape and enjoy themselves, not to suffer. what happened yesterday is tragic and heartbreaking and i’m at a loss for words.”

Another one added, “it’s crazy that they allow it after someone fucking died. it should always be allowed to bring water bottles to shows.”

The third one penned, “Should’ve been from the beginning. So disheartening to have this happen only after what happened. Shame on the venue,” while someone wrote, “Taylor swift has blood on her hand for not allowing fans to bring water bottles at concert, a poor soul lost her life.”

Taylor Swift announced that her Eras Tour concert has been postponed on Saturday.

Taking to Instagram Stories, the Karma hitmaker wrote, “I'm writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight's show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and well being of my fans, fellow performers and crew has to and will always come first.”
