Nicole Kidman, the acclaimed actress and producer, dropped a bombshell during an undisclosed fan event, suggesting that a third season of the immensely popular series, Big Little Lies, is in the works.

The 56-year-old star reflected on the impact of Big Little Lies on her career and expressed gratitude to the audience for turning the show into a massive success.

Kidman, who starred alongside Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz, revealed, "We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI."

"I loved Big Little Lies because it sort of came along at a time in my life when I had my children, and I was thinking I was going to retire, and then this situation came along, where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce that show, And then all of you watched it and made it a massive success," she said.

She further added, "and we will be bringing you a third one, just FYI." 

While representatives for Kidman and HBO, the network that aired the series, have not officially commented on the announcement, fans are buzzing with excitement over the prospect of more drama, secrets, and intrigue from the Monterey Five.

Big Little Lies, based on Liane Moriarty's novel, premiered in 2017 and became an instant sensation, exploring the lives of affluent parents in Monterey, California, entangled in a murder mystery. 

The second season, introduced Meryl Streep to the cast, adding another layer of star power to the ensemble.

The unexpected revelation comes after the passing of Jean-Marc Vallée, the director of the first season, in December 2021. 

Despite previous doubts about the feasibility of a third season, Kidman's recent announcement has reignited hopes among fans.
