Jamie Foxx faced a lawsuit for alleged sexual assault at a New York restaurant rooftop in 2015
Jamie Foxx is facing a lawsuit for alleged sexual assault at a New York rooftop bar in 2015 as the legal action initiated on Wednesday brought forth serious accusations against him.
The individual referred to as Jane Doe in the lawsuit, claimed that Foxx,55, escorted her to a private area on the rooftop lounge of Catch NYC where he inappropriately touched her breasts and groped her beneath her pants without her consent.
As per the legal filing, the woman and a companion were sitting at a nearby table occupied by The Burrial star and Mark Birnbaum, the bar owner.
At approximately 1 a.m., the woman's friend stood up and requested a photo from Foxx.
Foxx concurred, and they captured various photos. Subsequently, Foxx complimented the plaintiff by expressing, "Wow, you have that super model body” and “You smell so good.”
The lawsuit also alleged that he remarked she bore a resemblance to Gabrielle Union.
She claimed that he proceeded to guide her by the arm to a less crowded area of the rooftop, where he touched her breasts beneath her crop top.
The legal filing asserted that she was taken aback and attempted to distance herself.
However, Foxx allegedly went further by putting his hands down her pants and engaging in inappropriate touching of her private parts.
According to the lawsuit, a security guard observed the inappropriate touching but did not take any action. Subsequently, the woman's friend arrived, at which point Foxx ceased his actions and left the scene.
In the lawsuit to secure reparation for pain, emotional distress, anxiety, and humiliation.
In a claim, it is also asserted that the woman experienced physical discomfort, leading her to seek medical assistance due to the assault.
The legal action includes Birnbaum and Catch NYC as accused parties, asserting that they facilitated the assault and did not properly oversee their staff.
It is among numerous cases filed under New York's Adult Survivors Act, which established a one-year period for submitting sexual abuse claims that would otherwise be restricted by the statute of limitations.
The deadline for filing such claims is Thursday.
There was no immediate response from Foxx's representatives to a request for comment.
