Elon Musk launched a verbal tirade against the company's CEO, Bob Iger which has sparked a wave of backlash and calls for a boycott of Disney products and services.

The X (former Twitter) CEO directed explicit language at the Disney executive, expressing his frustration after the company ceased advertising on X earlier this week.

The remarks were issued as a reaction to an escalating controversy involving Musk.

Following this, Disney joined numerous companies in suspending advertising on the platform previously recognized as Twitter.

Consequently, Disney+ is witnessing a substantial subscription cancellation amid an emerging boycott.

Elon Musk statement:

In recent weeks, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX has been at the centre of a controversy stemming from his posts on a particular platform.

Numerous platforms have declared their decision to stop advertising on this social media network. Presently, Disney is one of the most significant brands among them encountering resistance.

After expressing remorse during a New York Times DealBook Summit interview, Elon Musk went on to make profanity-laden comments.

Musk repeatedly apologised for a tweet he posted on November 15, where he endorsed an anti-Jewish post.

However, in the vehement rant against the extortion attempts, Musk singled out Iger by name, declaring, "Hey Bob [Iger], if you are in the audience. That’s how I feel, don’t advertise."

Following this, Musk asserted that users were already participating in a boycott of Disney services.

Bob Iger remarks:

Iger previously conveyed that Disney sensed a connection with X following Musk's decision "was not a positive one for us".

Companies ivolved in the advertising dispute:

For the unversed, the companies involved in the advertising dispute include major global brands such as Paramount, Apple, IBM, and, notably, Disney.

However, on platform X, thousands of users have surged to validate their active participation in the ongoing boycott.

Currently, "Canceled" is a trending term on the platform, with thousands affirming their decision to abandon Disney+.
