Ranbir Kapoor's latest flick, Animal, has earned an impressive INR 116 crore on its first day at the worldwide box office.
Animal had a remarkable global debut on December 1, 2023, making history as the biggest opener for a non-holiday release in Hindi cinema.
The movie's makers shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), confirming early estimates of a massive INR 100 crore global opening.
T-Series posted a special Animal poster with the caption, "The biggest non-holiday opening in Hindi Cinema ever. Worldwide gross ₹116 cr."
Animal has achieved this significant milestone by surpassing the opening day figures of two Shah Rukh Khan releases in the same year, with Jawan collecting ₹125.05 crore and Pathaan at ₹106 crore.

Animal is not only making waves in India but also enjoying a strong start in North America.
Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the movie has become the "highest grossing Hindi film on day 1" in North America.
He highlighted the film's success by stating, "Animal is setting the box office on fire."
In another tweet, he mentioned, "Animal North America gross $2.5 million (approximately ₹20.8 crore) and counting, setting box office on fire. Highest grossing Hindi film on day 1."
The film's star-studded cast includes Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Shakti Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla.
Animal features Ranbir as the vengeful and angry son of Anil Kapoor, while Anil plays the emotionally inaccessible father.
The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh fame and is about a toxic connection between a parent and son.
