'Grand Theft Auto VI' trailer creates buzz on internet with new characters
'GTA VI' is scheduled for a 2025 release and it will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S
Rockstar Games released the initial trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI earlier than planned on Monday night.
Taking to YouTube on December 5, the makers responded promptly to its online leak by sharing the complete trailer.
Rockstar Games shared the news on social media, "Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing."
The trailer affirms various small details that have gradually surfaced about GTA VI in the past two years, such as the setting in Vice City and the introduction of the series' first female protagonist with a storyline inspired by Bonnie and Clyde.
It also revealed that GTA VI is scheduled for a 2025 release, and a press release from Rockstar on Monday further clarified that the game will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S in that year.
After a decade of anticipation, GTA VI's initial teaser had the potential to generate endless debate and conjecture even if it simply displayed the Roman numeral six.
The trailer surpassed expectations by showcasing familiar GTA elements like high-speed cars, chaotic gunfights, piles of illicit money, and an overall atmosphere of American-style hedonism, all within the fictionalized Miami known as Vice City.
Grand Theft Auto VI centred around a lone main character named Lucia, who, initially seen in a prison jumpsuit, seems set to engage in criminal activities with her boyfriend following her apparent release from jail.

According to the press release by the Rockstar, the game description said, “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet,” Rockstar says.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier in 2023 a UK teenager was identified as the source of the leak involving 90 videos from the game's development process.
Furthermore, a TikTok video emerged this week, purporting to contain leaked footage from the game, allegedly originating from a Rockstar employee's child.
