Hong Kong renowned actress Kathy Chow Hoi-mei passed away at the age of 57 in a Beijing hospital, on December 11, 2023,following a long battle with an undisclosed illness.

According to the Sun on Wednesday, Kathy’s studio shared the news of her demise on a Chinese social media platform Weibo on Tuesday evening.

 The studio stated, “May there be no sickness in heaven, and may we meet again.”

On the same day, a similar statement was posted on Kathy’s Douyin account around 10 pm.

Additionally, the Plain Love actress' family also expressed their wish for her happiness in another place and conveyed their pride in Kathy's achievements.

Prior to her death, on Monday, Kathy expressed gratitude to her supporters on Douyin for the love and friendship from them throughout the years. 

She also sent them wishes for good health, safety, and happiness.

On December 8, 2023, the Rain in the Heart actress  shared the last post on her  Douyin's account, based on the photos from her past roles and engaged her audience by asking, "Which drama do you know me from?."

About Kathy Chow Hoi-mei career: 

Kathy Chow Hoi-mei made her acting debut with a historical fantasy series  The Yang's Saga in  1985.

 She was best known for her role as Zhou Zhiruo in the 1994 TVB series The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber. 

In 1985, Kathy also participated as a  contestant in Miss Hong Kong.

She gained popularity as a leading actress in various TVB roles during the late 1980s and 1990s, which included The Feud Of Two Brothers, premiered in   1986, Looking Back In Anger in 1989, and Fight Back To School III in 1993.

In 2003, Kathy relocated to Beijing, where she continued her career in drama series and reality TV shows while occasionally appearing in TVB productions.
