The Masked Singer season 10 episode 12 revealed the singers underneath the Anteater and Candelabra costumes on December 13, 2023.

As reported by Variety, the artist behind Anteater was none other than one half of the most successful rock duo of all time, John Oates from Hall & Oates. While the singer under the Candelabra attire was unveiled to be Keyshia Cole.

This appearance of Oates comes shortly after a lawsuit filed against him by Daryl Hall over Oates’ plan to sell his share of the joint venture.

In an interview to the outlet, reflecting on the filed case, Oates said, “I can’t really talk about it. I don’t really want to talk about it. It’s not why I’m here. I want to focus on the music and The Masked Singer. Things will work itself out and time will tell.”

When asked if his attire of Anteater was a tribute by the show to his song Maneater he responded, “They knocked me down and tied my hands behind my back and told me I was going to be the Anteater.”

The panelists of the show had remained oblivious to this big hint  to which the singer noted, “To be honest with you, when I saw the rendering of the costume, I didn’t really care for it much. But I kind of just went with the flow. Then I realized Anteater/Maneater. It was interesting that no one else picked up on that on the show. At least they didn’t talk about it.”

None of the panelists could guess the singer behind Anteater. Nicole Scherzinger guessed it was John Mellencamp, while Robin Thicke thought it was Jackson Browne. Ken Jeong said it was Billy Joel and Jenny McCarthy went with her guess of Steven Van Zandt.

As for Candelabra, Nicole Scherzinger got this one right in figuring out it was Keyshia Cole alongside Robin Thicke. Jenny McCarthy guessed it was Brandy and Ken Jeong thought it was Kelly Rowland behind the costume.

John Oates and Keyshia Cole Elimination:

The singer with the least number of votes on the episode was Oates as Anteater, eliminating him from The Masked Singer while the remaining two contestants Candelabra and Donut faced each other off in a battle royale to determine the finalist.

Cole as Candelabra was then voted out, leading Donut to proceed to the finals to face off Group B’s winner Sea Queen while Group A champion Cow and Group A “Ding Dong Keep It On” recipient Gazelle will compete against each other in next week’s finals.
