Taylor Lautner, known for his role as Jacob Black in the Twilight series, opened up about the challenges of dealing with sudden fame during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
Reflecting on the overwhelming experience, Lautner expressed the difficulty of processing the overnight success that came with the franchise.
“When you're in the middle of it, when that overnight success happens, when that overnight fame happens, you can't process it,” Lautner shared.
He described the initial reaction as thinking it was awesome but emphasized that the true impact only became clear after taking a step back.
Lautner highlighted the toll fame took on his personal life, leading to trust issues, loneliness, and a reluctance to leave his house.
The Abduction actor acknowledged the gratitude he felt for the experience but emphasized the need to address the challenges that came with it.

In the past few years, he deliberately focused on other aspects of his life, leading to a greater sense of gratitude and a gradual breakdown of the walls that fame had erected.
“It does cause extreme loneliness, and it took a while to knock those walls down,” Lautner concluded.

He expressed the difficulty of dealing with fans passionately declaring allegiance to either his character or Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen.
Reflecting on the intense reactions, he admitted, “I think it was tough. I don't know for him, but for me at least, especially at the age I was at you get your feelings hurt sometimes when you shouldn't. But it's hard not to sometimes.”
Despite the on-screen rivalry, Lautner emphasized that there was no animosity between him and Pattinson off-screen, highlighting their positive and supportive relationship during the Twilight era.
