Demi Lovato and Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes get engaged in Los Angeles

 Demi Lovato is officially engaged to Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes, the 31-year-old songwriter they collaborated on the song Substance. 

As reported by PEOPLE, the engagement took place in Los Angeles on Saturday, with Lutes proposing using a custom-made pear-shaped diamond solitaire engagement ring. 

Following the "personal and intimate" proposal, the couple celebrated with their families at one of their favorite L.A. restaurants. 

Besides co-writing Substance, Lutes contributed to Lovato's tracks Happy Ending and City of Angels from their eighth album, Holy Fvck.

Jutes, a musician from Ottawa, Canada, transitioned from studying film to pursuing songwriting. 

Having left Capitol Records to independently pursue his artistic goals, Jutes shares a sobriety journey with Lovato, celebrating 100 days sober in July. 

The couple frequently expresses affection on Instagram, with Jutes co-writing tracks on Lovato's album. 

They also made their red carpet debut at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy Gala.
