Celine Dion sister Claudette has made heart wrenching revelations about singer’s health while explaining how Dion still “dreams” about performing on the stage again.

The 74-year-old sister of the My Heart Will Go On hitmaker has revealed that it will still take some time for Dion to come back to the stage amid her battle with a neurological condition, stiff person syndrome.

As reported by DailyMail, during her conversation with 7 Jours Claudette told that, “She's working hard, but she doesn't have control over her muscles. What breaks my heart is that she's always been disciplined.”

She added that “our mother always told her, 'You're going to do it well, you're going to do it properly.”

“It's true that in both our dreams and hers, the goal is to return to the stage. In what capacity? I don't know,” Claudette continued.

She went on to explain, “The vocal cords are muscles, and the heart is also a muscle. This is what comes to get me. Because it's 1 out of a million case, the scientists haven't done that much research because it didn't affect that many people.”

Meanwhile, the I’m Alive singer’s family charity, Fondation Maman Dion, has also been receiving the messages of support for the star.

Claudette revealed, “some people have lost hope because it's all illness that isn't well known. If only you knew the number of phone calls the Foundation gets about Celine! People tell us they love her and they're praying for her. She gets so many messages, presents and blessed crucifixes.”

What is stiff person syndrome?

Stiff person syndrome is a neurological disorder, which is progressive and incurable. The disease causes the body to attack its own nerve cells and severely impacts mobility.

Patients who suffer from the stiff person syndrome (SPS) turn into “human statues,” leaving them struggling to walk or talk.

In addition to these, the rare condition affects just one in a million people, which can also lead to spasms that generate enough force to fracture bone. This is mostly diagnosed in women around ages 30-50.
