Julia Roberts has opened up about her steadfast decisions in the entertainment industry, shedding light on why she won't easily relinquish certain aspects of her career.

In her recent feature in British Vogue, the 56-year-old actress, disclosed that she deliberately steers clear of provocative roles, opting for a career marked by family-friendly content.

When questioned about “any feelings of responsibility to other women” in script choices, conveyed to interviewer Richard Curtis that her focus lies on the roles she consciously opts out of rather than the ones she embraces.

“You know, not to be criticizing others’ choices, but for me to not take off my clothes in a movie or be vulnerable in physical ways is a choice that I guess I make for myself,” she explained.

The Pretty Woman star said, “But in effect, I’m choosing not to do something as opposed to choosing to do something.”

While expressing a desire to encourage women facing the pressure to undress for film roles, Roberts acknowledged that the film industry has undergone significant changes since she embarked on her acting journey.

“I don’t know if it’s better, because it’s not my experience, but it just seems very different,” she shared.

Roberts added, “And in a way, it seems so cluttered. There are so many elements to being famous now, it just seems exhausting.”

“There’s more elements, there’s more noise, there’s more outlets, there’s more stuff,” the Notting Hill star went to explain.

Julia Roberts had previously discussed her choice to remain fully clothed during the premiere of her 2009 film Duplicity.

When questioned about the possibility of reconsidering, the actress firmly emphasized that her commitment as a mother takes precedence over any script presented to her.

She told the Daily Mail at the time, “You know it’s not really what I do, so if you are going ask me to do it, you have to expect it to be toned down,” adding, “You know, as a mom of three, I feel like that.”

Julia Roberts married Daniel Moder in 2002, and the couple, known for their privacy, later became parents to a son named Henry, aged 16, and twins named Phinnaeus and Hazel, both now 19.
