Selena Gomez geared up to share screen with David Henrie in 'Wizards of Waverly place' sequel

Selena Gomez is set to make her return to the big screens in a sequel of Disney’s Wizards of Waverly place, reprising her famous role of Alex Russo alongside David Henrie.
According to Deadline, Henrie is also onboard to star in the upcoming sequel playing his original role of Justin Russo.
Both the 34-year-old actor and the Calm Down singer are also slated as the executive producers of the potential reboot, which is currently commissioned as a pilot.
'Wizards of Waverly Place' sequel plot:

This new series of Wizards of Waverly Place is expected to pick its plot up “after a mysterious incident at WizTech, where an adult Justin Russo has left his wizard powers behind, opting for a normal, human life with his wife (Gianopulos) and two sons.”

“But he gets a surprise when a powerful young wizard (Brown) in need of training shows up at his door… and Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World,” as per the outlet’s reports.
This announcement of the upcoming sequel was also made by the Who Says crooner on her Instagram story on January 18, 2024, where she uploaded a picture of her from the Disney sitcom with Henrie.

“We’re back,” she captioned the picture.
On behalf of the 31-year-old singer, this news may be perceived as a bit shocking as she currently appeared to inclined towards more serious acting roles.
Earlier this week it was announced that the Lose You To Love Me singer would be portraying Linda Ronstadt in a biopic.
The project is being directed by the four-time Oscar nominated David O. Russell, who also helmed the Jennifer Lawrence starrer, Silver Linings Playbook.
