Netflix releases 'mysteriously intriguing' trailer of 'Ripley'
Netflix released the trailer for the much anticipated series, 'Ripley' on January 21, 2024
Netflix launched its enthralling trailer for the upcoming special titled, Ripley, on Monday, January 21, 2024, with Andrew Scott starring as Tom Ripley.
The upcoming series is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling series of the 1990s, the Ripley novels. The story’s most famous adaptation is the 1999’s The Talented Mr. Ripley starring Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law.
‘Ripley’ plot:
Ripley plot revolves around a conman, going by the name of Tom Ripley who is hired by a rich benefactor to convince his vagabond son, Dickie Greenleaf to return home from Italy.
But as soon as Tom becomes accustomed as well as enchanted by the glamor of Dickie's lifestyle, he does everything to assure Dickie that his place alongside him.
Netflix’s logline for the thriller series reads, "Tom's acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.”

'Ripley' release date:
All eight episodes of Ripley will hit Netflix on February 4, 2024. The series is written, directed, and executive produced by the Academy Award winner Steve Zaillian.
The Irishman mastermind told Vanity Fair in an interview back in December that telling the story of Tom's treachery over multiple episodes allowed him to be "more faithful to the story, tone, and subtleties of Highsmith’s work."

The famous crime series of novels, Ripley, by the American novelist, Patricia Highsmith was first introduced back in 1955.
Before her death in 1995, she published five Ripley novels over a span of 36 years. The novels in chronological order are as follows:
- The Talented Mr. Ripley in 1955.
- Ripley Under Ground in 1970.
- Ripley's Game in 1974.
- The Boy Who Followed Ripley in 1980.
- Ripley Under Water in 1991.
