Ryan Gosling finds himself at the centre of controversy as he steadfastly refuses to relinquish his Oscars nomination for his role in the Barbie film, even after publicly criticizing the Academy for snubbing Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig.

On Tuesday, Ryan vented his frustration over the Academy's neglect of his female colleagues in a statement, yet stopped short of renouncing his nomination in protest.

A source closely connected to the La La Land star has revealed that he currently has no intentions of taking such a step.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, the insider revealed, “Ryan is sticking by his statement.”

As per the source, “He understands people are upset because he is upset as well, but he is not going to be swayed by what anyone is saying online.”

They went on to say, “Ryan is honored that he has been nominated and the film has been nominated.”

“In the chance he does win or if he performs I'm Just Ken, he will honor Margot and Greta in one way or another,” the source continued.

As per the insider, Ryan is following his heart and receiving backing from both his fellow cast members and director, ensuring he makes decisions aligned with his values.

“He is not looking to make this into something more than it has become. He spoke about it and people should take what he said seriously because he meant every single word,” the insider said.
