James Gunn marked one year as DC’s Co-CEO alongside Peter Safran, with gratitude and exciting updates.

Taking to his Instagram account on Thursday, the Guardian of the Galaxy creator shared an illustration of Superman with a sweet note to express how he feels after a year as DC Universe’s boss and also to update his fans regarding all the projects currently in works at the studio.

“One year ago today Peter Safran & I introduced our DC slate for the 1st time - thanks to all of you for the support you’ve given us throughout the year,” Gunn began in his post.

He went on to drop major update regarding DC’s one of highly anticipated projects, Superman Legacy, “Today, Superman Legacy is about to start production.

James Gunn also revealed that, “episodes of Creature Commandos are being finished that will release later this year.”


To fuel DC fans’ excitement he announced that, “at least 2 more projects are gearing up to go in the next couple months, amazing scripts keep coming in, & incredible talent are being attached to new projects, planned & unplanned.”

Lastly he gave credit to the artist behind the beautiful illustration, noting, “Thank you!!#DCStudios Art by @frankquitelyofficial.”

This update comes shortly after James Gunn confirmed that the House of the Dragon famed actress, Milly Alcock will be new Supergirl of DCU.

Alongside a screenshot of Deadline’s article, which also had Milly’s poster collaged with her Supergirl avatar, he wrote, “This is accurate. Milly is a fantastically talented young actor, and I’m incredibly excited about her being a part of the DCU.”


He added while hailing the actress, “Yes, I first became aware of her in House of the Dragon but I was blown away by her varied auditions and screen tests for #Supergirl. She embodies Kara as envisioned by @tomking_tk, @bilquis and Ana Nogueira.”
