Bruce Springsteen shared a heartfelt note as he revealed the news of his mother Adele's death at the age of 98.
The singer took to Instagram on Thursday, announce the loss, posting a heartfelt video capturing moments of him dancing with his late mother to the tunes of swing music.
The post included poignant lyrics from his 1998 song, The Wish, dedicated to Adele.
Known for her love of dancing, Adele often graced the stage at her son's concerts, becoming a beloved figure among fans.
Bruce Springsteen expressed deep emotions, recounting fond memories of his mother's morning routines and the joy she found in dancing.
"I remember in the morning mom hearing your alarm clock ring. I’d lie in bed and listen to you getting ready for work, the sound of your makeup case on the sink. And the ladies at the office all lipstick, perfume and rustling skirts, how proud and happy you always looked walking home from work," he wrote.
He further added, "It ain’t no phone call on Sunday, flowers or a Mother’s Day card. It ain’t no house on the hill with a garden and a nice little yard. I’ve got my hot rod down on Bond Street I’m older but you’ll know me in a glance. We’ll find us a Little rock ‘n roll bar and we’ll go out and dance."
Adele, originally from Brooklyn, New York, married Douglas Springsteen in 1948, and the couple had three children.
Bruce has previously shared insights into his family's journey, including the complexities of his relationship with his father.
