Warner Bros. is gearing up for yet another woman centric film, Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, with Tim Burton as the director on the forthcoming project.
As reported by Deadline, after Warner Bros. 2023’s Barbie bagged 8 nominations for the Oscars 2024, and becoming WB’s highest grossing movie of all time, the studio is now bringing another exciting project under Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy administration.
Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman is a reimagined version of the Warner Bros 1958’s classic, with Emmy nominee, Gillian Flynn serving as the writer.
Flynn is also known for writing scripts for Netflix film, Gone Girl and hit series, Sharp Objects.
Moreover, it was just revealed that Flynn would turn her other book, Dark Places, into a limited series on HBO. She will contribute to the project as a writer, co-creator, and co-showrunner.
Meanwhile, Burton, who is also serving as the co-producer on Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper has racked up $4.1 billion at the global box office with projects like, Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Planet of the Apes, Batman, Batman Returns and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
In addition to this, the 65-year-old director is currently gearing for the release of Beetlejuice on September 6, 2024.
