Derek Hough's wife, Hayley Erbert made her first public appearance on Saturday, February 3, 2024, alongside her husband as she takes another step towards her health recovery.
As reported by PEOPLE, the couple was seen outside together in Los Angeles, marking the first time Erbert has been spotted in public since she underwent an emergency surgery for a cranial hematoma in December 2023.

In the photos, the 29-year-old walked alongside the Dancing with the Stars judge and rocked a cream-coloured sweater which she wore over a black top and jeans.
She accentuated her look with a baseball cap and carried a black purse. Meanwhile, Hough, wore an all-black ensemble comprised of a jacket, pants and sneakers.

Hayley Erbert’s initial surgery was completed on December 7, 2023 as her husband, Derek Hough revealed to his followers via his official Instagram account that she would need another procedure on her skull within a few weeks.
On December 21, 2023 the 38-year-old posted an update in a separate post on Instagram to inform his followers that his wife’s second surgery had been "successfully completed."

Hough also attended the Creative Arts Emmy Awards alone in January 2024. He won an Emmy Award in the category of outstanding choreography for variety or reality programming and dedicated his win to Erbert.
"A month ago was a life-changing moment that reminded me to really cherish and savor every moment," he said during his acceptance speech.
"I want to dedicate this to my beautiful wife. I just flew in from Washington, D.C., last night. Your strength and your courage this whole month has been unbelievable. You inspired me every day,” he further said.
