Remembering hearing Bennett's iconic For Once In My Life as a young boy, Wonder expressed deep admiration for Bennett's art, love for peace, unity, and civil rights.
He said, "I remember hearing Tony Bennett singing 'For Once in My Life' when I was like 13 or 14 years old, but what's amazing is I was able to actually sing the song with someone that I admired for so long, not just because of his voice, which was incredible, but because of his art, his love for art, his love for peace, his love for unity, his love for civil rights."
The touching tribute included a posthumous duet, with Wonder playing the piano and singing alongside a clip of Bennett.
Following this, Annie Lennox paid respects to the legendary Sinead O'Connor, delivering a poignant rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U.
Jon Batiste and Ann Nesby took the stage to honor Clarence Avant, the revered 'godfather' of Black entertainment, through a medley of soulful tracks.
The energetic culmination featured Fantasia Barrino's powerful tribute to the late Tina Turner, belting out Turner's classic Proud Mary.
Barrino not only captured Turner's essence but also engaged the audience in a lively dance celebration, encouraging all women to 'move your feet for Tina Turner.'
In addition to these tributes, the In Memoriam segment acknowledged other musical luminaries, including Harry Belafonte and Jimmy Buffett.
