Jay-Z  subtly lambasted the Recording Academy for never presenting his wife the award for Album of the Year.

The Young Forever singer, who won the  Dr. Dre Global Impact honour at the 66th Grammy Awards slammed Grammys during his acceptance speech for never rewarding the CUFF IT songstress for Album of the Year.

“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year,” said the Empire State of Mind crooner, while looking at his wife from the stage.

Jay-Z continued, “The most Grammys – never won Album of the Year. That [math] doesn’t work.”

The Rolling in the Deep singer did not hold back from slamming fellow musicians, saying, "Some of you gonna go home tonight and feel like you’ve been robbed. Some of you may get robbed.” 

He added, “Some of you don’t belong in the category … when I get nervous I tell the truth.”

The Grammy winner further advised the Recording Academy to “get it right or at least close to right.”

This mini protest from Beyoncé's husband comes in light of the fact that the 42-year-old pop icon, despite being nominated for Album of the Year four times, has lost to artists like Taylor Swift, Adele, Harry Styles, and Beck.

 Beyoncé has been nominated for 88 Grammys total and has bagged 33 of them as of now.

Although, the Crazy in Love singer did not win any Grammy this year, she stole the show in a cow-girl look, featuring a black checkered blazer, embellished with tiny studs, which she paired with matching mini skirt.

Beyoncé completed her look with a black bowtie and a cow-girl hat in white color.

She was seated in the front row of the Grammy Awards show and watched her daughter Blue Ivy joining her father Jay-Z onstage to accept his award.
