Prince Harry whirlwind trip to the United Kingdom has drawn attention as he made a brief yet poignant visit to see his father, King Charles, amidst his battle with cancer now after spending 24 hours in the UK, Harry returned to his home in California.

The Duke of Sussex was captured in photographs at London’s Heathrow Airport on Wednesday, purportedly departing from London after spending approximately 24 hours in his native country.

His journey to the UK was made without his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie,4, and Princess Lilibet,2.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have settled in Meghan's home state of California after stepping back from their royal duties in 2020.

Prince Harry arrived in the UK on Tuesday after boarding a flight from Los Angeles on Monday.

It's reported that he traveled to Clarence House, the London residence of King Charles and Queen Camilla, where it's believed that the father and son had a brief private meeting, marking their first reunion since the coronation ceremony in May 2023.

The close source revealed exclusively to the PEOPLE, "That is good," adding, “Hopefully [Harry] will bring the grandchildren at some point too, as that would be lovely for all of them."

King Charles reportedly personally notified his sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, along with other relatives, about his diagnosis before Buckingham Palace issued a public announcement.

On Monday, the palace released a statement spanning 138 words, revealing that the monarch is undergoing treatment for "a form of cancer."
