King Charles, was diagnosed with a “form of cancer” on Monday and the shocking news intrigued the world as the type of cancer has not been revealed yet.

The Royal biographer Robert Hardman shared with PEOPLE exclusively, “In time we might know," adding, “but for now, there is a feeling that they have been pretty open."

As per the announcement by Buckingham Palace on Monday, the statement did not close the information about his cancer.

However, it added int the statement, “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."

Later the news went public, the Royal Family's social media account posted the graphic in collaboration with the U.K. charity Macmillan Cancer Support to emphasise aid for cancer information and support.

It is worth noting here that the actual detail related to the King's diagnosis was not shared similar to past health reports related to royal family members.

For the unversed, in 1952 the King King George VI’s lung cancer diagnosis was kept private till his death and the information revealed after his death.

Likewise, after the surgery of Princess Margaret’s lung, the new of her operation went public in 1985.

In the announcement of the hysterectomy Queen Camilla in 2007, the reports did not disclose the precise reason.

Furthermore, Prince Philip also went through he abdominal sugery in 2013 but the specific nature of his surgery has never been announced.

In a recent occurrence, the Royal family shared the news regarding Kate Middleton's "planned abdominal surgery" after the completion of the procedure, with the statement from Kensington Palace omitting specific facts regarding her condition.
