Gisele Bündchen reflects on ‘personal growth’ since mother’s death

Gisele Bündchen provided insights into her healing process and personal growth following the recent passing of her mother on January 28.
Taking to her official Instagram account on Friday, February 9, 2024, the 43-year-old Brazilian supermodel shared a quote from Ecuadorian author Yung Pueblo in a post, after losing her mother, Vânia Nonnenmacher.
“Personal transformation is not easy. Healing yourself takes time," the quote read.
"Letting go can sometimes feel overwhelming. Building new habits can seem like an uphill battle. Even with all of these challenges inner-work is worth it. This active form of self-love can radically change your life," her post read as she reiterated the quote in Portuguese.
Alongside her emotional message, Bündchen shared a photo of herself standing on a balcony, gazing at the sunset behind where vast landscape of buildings and mountains can be seen.
Her mother, Nonnenmacher, died at age 75 on January 28, 2024, from cancer. She was confirmed to have been hospitalized since January 26, 2024 by Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Bündchen's latest post comes after she paid tribute to her late mother in a separate post on Instagram, last month.
She posted a carousel of photos featuring Nonnenmacher with her and the model’s children, 14-yer-old Benjamin and 11-year-old Vivian whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady.
"Beloved mom, It hurts to know that I won’t be able to hug you anymore, but I know that you will always be watching over us. You were an angel on earth, always helping everyone around you," Bündchen’s caption read.
Expressing her love and gratitude to her now-deceased mother, she continued, "I am so grateful to be your daughter and to have learned from you. Thank you for being the best role model of love, strength, compassion, courage, and grace.”
"I will forever cherish the beautiful memories we shared and will live by the values you taught me. You will live forever through the many lives that you touched. Thank you for giving me five best friends for life. Your love will always guide us. I will see you in my dreams. Love you," she concluded.
