King Charles has made his first public statement on Saturday after he was diagnosed with a “form of” cancer.
In a statement by Buckingham Palace, the 75-year-old monarch extended words of gratitude to all his well-wishers who supported him during the tough days.
As per the shared statement, the King said, “I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days."
It is added in the note released by the palace, "As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement."
The statement went on to explain, "It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organisations which support cancer patients and their families across the U.K. and wider world.”
"My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is all the greater as a result of my own personal experience," the statement concluded.
The statement was released after the announcement by Buckingham Palace on February, 05, that King Charles was diagnosed with the cancer.
It is pertinent to mention that King Charles personally told his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, about the diagnosis.
He also shared the news with his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, before the news went public.
Before the revelation of his cancer, the Monarch went for the treatment of an enlarged prostate on January 26, 2024.
Due to his treatment, King Charles stayed for three days at London Clinic.
However, he has stepped away from royal duties and it is still uncertain when King Charles will resume his duties.
