Shawn Levy praised Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as they portrayed the roles of their respective famous characters, Deadpool and Wolverine,  in the upcoming film, Deadpool 3.

As reported by PEOPLE, on Sunday, February 11, 2024, the Deadpool & Wolverine director, addressed  what fans can expect of the motion picture, shortly after the release of the highly anticipated film's trailer.

He told the outlet that the actors are “electric” together onscreen while teasing what can be anticipated from the upcoming sequel at the 76th annual DGA Awards in Los Angeles.

Referring to Reynolds and Jackman, who star opposite one another in the highly anticipated film, Levy said, “I knew they were professionals. I knew they were the loveliest of gentlemen, but when you see them as Deadpool and Wolverine, something electric happens."

“And you're in the presence of icons and even as their good buddy, that gave me a thrill many a day. Hugh, Ryan and I are very good friends in real life. We spend a lot of time together in real life,” he added, praising the two stars’ friendship.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman return to the big screens, reprising the role of their famous superhero characters, Deadpool and Wolverine respectively in the third Deadpool movie, which is expected to hit the theatres on July 26, 2024.

Shawn Levy, who has previously directed PG films like Big Fat Liar and Cheaper by the Dozen, further added that it was a “fun” experience to be working with the film’s team on R-rated projects like Deadpool & Wolverine.
