Bobbie Jean Carter passed away at the age of 41 on December 23, 2023
Bobbie Jean Carter’s cause of death has been disclosed following her tragic demise at the age of 41, happened on December 23, 2023.
As per the initial case summary report from the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Department obtained by PEOPLE magazine, Bobbie passed away of “intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine,” while her death was ruled accidental.
The report further stated that Bobbie's roommate last saw her at 6:30 a.m. and found her unconscious on the bathroom floor 30 minutes later.
She was then rushed to Tampa's St. Joseph's Hospital in cardiac arrest and marked as dead at 8:02 a.m.
In the "medical history" section of the report, officials mentioned that Bobbie had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, as noted by her mother Jane Carter, listed as her next of kin.

The report also listed preliminary medications including propranolol (an anti-anxiety medication), omeprazole (for indigestion, heartburn, and acid reflux), clindamycin (an antibiotic), and quetiapine (used for mental health conditions like schizophrenia).
Her passing occurred slightly more than a year following the death of her brother Aaron Carter in November 2022 at the age of 34, and 11 years after her sister Leslie passed away in 2012 at the age of 25.
Prior to this, the Hillsborough Sheriff’s department informed the outlet that Bobbie, who was the sister of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, discovered unconscious in the bathroom of her Florida residence.
Additionally, deputies were informed that she was on probation for cocaine possession at the time of her passing.
