Shah Rukh Khan joked about not being able to play the iconic character of James Bond due to his height but suggested he could play the "baddie."

At the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai on Wednesday, Shah Rukh, who was presented as one of the speakers, spoke about his career and desire to play the popular role of the James Bond.

During a discussion called The Making Of A Star: A Conversation With Shah Rukh Khan, the 58-year-old actor joked about "not being a legend" and humorously responded to a question about his name by saying, "I am James Bond."

When asked if he would want to "play Bond," Shah Rukh replied, "I really wanted to, but I think I am too short, but I am brown enough to play the Bond baddie."

The Pathaan actor also discussed his 33-year acting career and why he didn't pursue Hollywood opportunities.

He said, "I know many people from the American and the English film industries. But nobody has offered me good work and I wondered if I was spreading myself too thin."

Mentioning turning down a role in the Slumdog Millionaire, the Jawan actor explained, "I was offered Slumdog Millionaire, but I felt that the role of the game show host was too mean."

Shah Rukh was last seen in his film Dunki, alongside Tapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Satish Shah and others, which was released on December 21, 2023.

The film garnered over INR 470 crore worldwide, making it the sixth most grossing Hindi film of 2023.
