Paloma Faith has opened up about her heartwrenching and devastating experience of her miscarriage while filming Pennyworth.

During the conversation with Elizabeth Day on the How To Fail podcast, the Mistakes songstress who is set to release her latest album, The Glorification of Sadness said, "It started at work and it was a fight scene on Pennyworth. I just thought to myself, it's gone so I might as well carry on with what I was doing. I had to go to the toilet 9 times.”

She went on to say, “I told them I ate something bad last night because I knew if I told them they would escort me home. I didn't want to. I would just be going home without work and without a viable pregnancy.”

Faith who has two kids from her former partner, Leyman Lahcine, acknowledged that the multiple rounds of IVF procedure are “harrowing.”

The Lullaby crooner mentioned that she had an ectopic pregnancy and initially, she met with difficulty but after that she “quite quickly” carried two viable pregnancies.

For the unversed, ectopic pregnancy happens when a fertilized egg attaches itself outside of the uterus, typically in the fallopian tubes as the most common location.

Faith explained the birth was "difficult", she shared that her first birth was "actually unbearable" as she disclosed that she had a premature baby after she suffered PROMs (premature rupture of membranes) at six months.

The Never Tear Us Apart singer described she managed to get seven hours in one week and underwent an emergency cesarean section.

She further added that because of that she went through different issues in the fertility process including post-partum psychosis and hallucinations due to insomnia.
