Alia Bhatt, Richie Mehta's Prime Video series 'Poacher' gears up for worldwide franchise growth
'Poacher' is slated to premiere Amazon Prime from February 23
Alia Bhatt-owned production house Eternal Sunshine Productions has produced the Prime Video web series Poacher.
The thriller series was created by QC Entertainment, led by partners Sean McKittrick, Raymond Mansfield and Edward H. Hamm Jr. and the executive producer is Eternal Sunshine Productions outfit.
The Heart Of Stone star along with Richie Mehta, who helmed the series, and the other team members are in London for the Poacher screening.
Bhatt was accompanied by her mother Soni Razdan and sister Shaheen at the event.
It is reported by Variety that on asking about the series expanding beyond the subcontinent to become a global franchise, Manish Menghani, Director of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, McKittrick responded, “I’ll speak for Manish, yes.”
“My short answer to that is, this is obvious,” Mehta added.
The director continued, “It’s a global phenomenon. And I knew when I was researching this, every single person I was dealing with had ties to different countries. And they were doing wildlife crime operations, multinationally and so that already for me was like, ‘Oh my God, this story is particularly residing in India, but where this can go can be anywhere and everywhere.'”

Bhatt shared her thoughts on her upcoming series, “Executive producer is a fancy word, but I’m the mascot of ‘Poacher’ and I don’t mind being for ‘Poacher’ or for any show that has such heart at its storytelling.”
It is pertinent to mention that the Amazon Prime series Poacher is slated to premiere on the streaming platform from February 23.
