After Katy Perry announced her exit from the role of judge on American Idol, Jordin Sparks showed her intentions to be a part of the show.
Taking to her X (former Twitter), the No Air songstress, who is also the winner of American Idol's sixth season, expressed her enthusiasm to get the role.
She tweeted, “Oh hiiii @AmericanIdol —I hear a seat opened up at the judges table! I’m putting my name in the hat!"

It is pertinent to mention that, the Dark Horse singer revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that this upcoming season will be her last.
"This fall, in September, I'm going to be doing this huge music festival in Brazil called Rock in Rio... so I think this will probably be my last season for Idol," Perry said.
She went on to say, "I mean, I love Idol so much," adding, "It's connected me with the heart of America, but I need to feel that pulse of my own beat."
On asking about her fellow judges' reaction to her exit, "What did Luke and Lionel say," Perry replied, "Well, they'll find out tonight!"
Katy Perry has been part of American Idol, since March 2018, and she joined in season 16.
