Jimmy Kimmel recalled 2017 incident when the wrong film was announced as the Best Picture

Jimmy Kimmel revealed what made him return to host the upcoming 2024 Oscars ceremony.
According to PEOPLE report, Kimmel in an interview with Las Angeles Times, shared that initially he never thought of coming back to host prestigious awards.
Reflecting on his experiences of hosting Oscars, Kimmel talked about 2017 incident when the wrong film was announced as the Best Picture.

The Late-Night talk show host explained being hesitant initially stating, “I know how much work goes into [the Oscars], so I thought, ‘Yeah, I don’t necessarily want to do this ever again.’”
Revealing what changed his mind of hosting 2023 Oscars, he shared, “I knew there was a movie [Top Gun: Maverick] that people had seen, and it just makes the job easier.”
Additionally, this year he revealed Barbie was the movie that changed his mind, stating, “I am sitting in a movie theater watching Barbie and thinking, ‘Well, maybe I’ll do this again, because at least I have a point of reference with everyone.'”
The outlet also shared that this year the TV host's wife will also join him, along with Jimmy Kimmel Live! co-head writer, Molly McNearney.
