Tom Cruise is all geared up to take the action-packed role in the highly anticipated movie by The Revenant director  Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

The PEOPLE confirmed that the Mission: Impossible star will take the role in the upcoming movie helmed by Iñárritu.

However, the information related to the plot was not unveiled, the only information disclosed was about the writers of the film.

The writers Iñárritu, Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolás Giacobone will be in the team of the upcoming feature film.

Giacobone and Dinelaris previously helmed the 2014 Oscar-winner Birdman.

Initially, the news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter (THR), and they mentioned that Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment were reportedly put heads together to get the project.

However, Deadline reported that Cruise will produce alongside Legendary.

It is pertinent to mention that, earlier, The Mummy star created the headlines as he signed the planned deal with Warner Bros., where he joined forces with CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy on both original and franchise projects.

Cruise is already working on the Top Gun 3 after the success of Top Gun: Maverick as it is reported by THR in January.
