Dua Lipa has expressed interest in starring in Pedro Almodovar's movie after her appearances in 2024's Argylle and the film Barbie.
The females cast in films by Pedro are called by a nickname in Spain as 'chicas Almodovar', which means “Almodovar girls.”
While conversing with the Spanish website El Espanol, the Levitating songstress shared, “I'm a great admirer of Pedro Almodovar and I'd love to be an Almodovar girl one day. His films really empower women, make them be themselves without apologies.”
She went on to say, “Almodovar's work always has female protagonists, they are the absolute stars, so strong, so themselves.”

Dua added, “They speak to how much Pedro loves women in the way he presents them, their stories, with many nuances.”
“It's funny but also emotional and dramatic. It gives women a lot of layers and I love that,” the Houdini singer concluded.
It is pertinent to mention that Pedro's key film came in the form of the 1998 comedy thriller Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown, and the movie also garnered a nomination for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.
