Miss Czech Republic was crowned Miss World 2024 in the star-studded event held in Mumbai, India, marking the pageant's return to the country after nearly three decades.

Overcoming stiff competition from 111 contestants worldwide, the 23-year-old law student and model stood out with her charm and grace throughout the pageant.

The 71st edition of the Miss World pageant saw Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic clinching the title, with Miss Lebanon, Yasmina Zaytoun, securing the first runner-up position.

Hosted by former Miss World Megan Young and filmmaker Karan Johar, the event showcased a dazzling array of performances and inspiring stories.

The judging panel comprised notable personalities from Bollywood, including actors Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde, along with former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh and India TV Chairman Rajat Sharma.

In the final stages, Pyszková impressed the judges with her eloquence and advocacy during the Q&A round, where she addressed critical issues like women's healthcare and menstrual stigma.

She said, “being a woman is a gift” and menstrual cycle shouldn’t be a taboo subject.

Pyszková now joins the esteemed ranks of past winners, including prominent figures like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas from India.
