Dua Lipa recently opened up about her surreal experience of dancing alongside Katy Perry at the age of 15 and how their friendship has evolved since then.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, the Houdini singer who is set to release her upcoming album Radical Optimism on May 03, 2024, shared her experience of her friendship with the Dark Horse singer.

Lipa said about Perry, "I love Katy! I am friends with Katy. I think she’s amazing.”

While recalling Perry’s attendance at her 2018 concerts at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the Levitating songstress added, “That was a full-circle moment for me when she came to see my show at the Palladium because when I was 15 years old, I went to go see her at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.”

Lipa continued, "It was her California Dreams Tour, and she was bringing fans onstage and I jumped onstage and I danced," adding, "There’s this embarrassing picture of me online, but I love her."

Dua Lipa and Katy Perry shared a strong bond and the New Rules hitmaker also got approval from the Roar singer.

"To get the nod from someone like her, someone who I look up to, is really encouraging," she said.

Last year Perry expressed her praise for Lipa in an interview with Rolling Stone she said, "I remember even championing Dua because I was like, 'Oh, this girl is going to be the next big girl pop star. She’s the it girl, and she’s coming.'"
