Dianne Crittenden, the casting director of Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope, who has also worked in Spider-Man and Pretty Woman, left the world mourning as she passed away on March 19 at the age of 82.

As per the reports of Deadline, her death was confirmed by her close friend and mentee, Ilene Starger, on Thursday.

It is also shared that she died on Wednesday in her residence in Pacific Palisades, California, however, the cause of her death has not been disclosed yet.

Crittenden teamed with many top directors, including Terrence Malick, George Lucas, Howard Zieff, Carl Reiner, Arthur Hiller, Garry Marshall, Sam Raimi, and Peter Weir, among others, during her more than four decades of career.

She showcased her skills in notable films in Hollywood including Spider-Man 2, Pretty Woman, Days of Heaven, The Thin Red Line, Green Card, The In-Laws, Hearts of the West, and more.

Crittenden began her career in film and television when she collaborated with photographer and director Zieff.

Her last project as a casting professional was the 2015 drama Little Boy.

Dianne Crittenden is survived by her stepdaughter, Jennifer Crittenden; sister, Dori Carter; brother, Donald Derfner; brother-in-law, Chris Carter; sister-in-law, Brenda Derfner; and five nephews.
