'The Penguin' trailer showcases Colin Farrell's transformation into the notorious DC villain, following 'The Batman' movie


Colin Farrell is set to reprise his role as Oswald Cobblepot in the upcoming spin-off series, The Penguin.

The first trailer for the highly anticipated series has been released on Friday, offering a glimpse into dark and gritty world of Gotham's underworld.

The trailer released showcases Farrell's transformation into the notorious DC Comics villain, following the events of The Batman movie.

Cobblepot says in the start of the trailer, “When I was a kid, there was a gangster, real old-school type. Rex Calabrese. He was a big deal. He helped people. He saw you on the street, he’d call out to you.”

Directed by Craig Zobel, the series delves into Cobblepot's rise to power in the criminal underbelly of Gotham City, exploring his journey from a disfigured outsider to one of the city's most feared gangsters.

Alongside Farrell the star-studded cast include Cristin Milioti, Michael Zegen, Clancy Brown and more talented actors.

Production on the series began in March 2023, with shooting resuming after a temporary halt due to industry strikes.

Meanwhile, a sequel to The Batman movie, titled The Batman: Part II, is also in the works, set for release in theaters in 2026.
