Kate Middleton opens up about ongoing cancer battle in emotional video message

Princess of Wales acknowledged efforts she and Prince William, have made to manage the situation privately

Kate Middleton revealed her ongoing battle with cancer in a new personal video message.

Taking to Instagram, the Princess of Wales posted a video message putting an end to the speculation surrounding her absence from public appearances.

In the video message, Kate shared that after undergoing 'abdominal surgery' in January, post-operative tests revealed the presence of cancer.

Princess Kate said in the video, “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

Kate acknowledged the shock of the diagnosis and the efforts she and her husband, Prince William, have made to manage the situation privately for the sake of their young family.

Princess Catherine highlighted the need for time to process the news and to prepare her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, for what lies ahead.

“As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits. Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both. We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment,” she added.

Despite the challenges, Princess Catherine conveyed determination and hope, encouraging others facing similar battles, concluding, “For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”
