Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes kept their relationship deliberately private
Eva Mendes has reminisced about her initial encounter with actor Ryan Gosling, revealing a profound impression that left her in awe.
While conversing on the Today Show, the Ghost Rider starlet opened up about the unforgettable meeting with the Barbie actor, during the production of their 2012 movie The Place Beyond the Pines.
She shared about Gosling, “I’ve never experienced anything like that,” adding, "The way he works, his commitment to his craft, how he wants to make everything as best as it can be — and that means making his costars as best as they can be."
Mendes continued, "Unfortunately — or fortunately — there's only one Ryan, so I pretty much stopped acting after that.”
In the same interview, the Hitch star disclosed that taking a break from her acting career was not challenging for her.

Mendes stated, "It was like a no-brainer. I'm so lucky, and I was like, if I could have this time with my children — and I still work, I just didn't act, because acting takes you on location," adding, "It takes you away."
She went on to say about her and Gosling’s decision, "It was almost just like a non-verbal agreement that it was like, 'Okay, he's going to work and I'm going to work. I'm just going to work here.’”
Gosling and Mendes, who keep their relationship low-key, are parents to two daughters.
Their first child, Esmeralda Amada, was born in September 2014, and then in April 2016, they welcomed their second daughter Amada Lee.
