Lizzo has announced her departure from the music industry, citing exhaustion from constant criticism and backlash.

The Truth Hurts songstress shared the statement to inform her fans that she “QUIT” from her music career due to facing continuous objections.

Taking to her Instagram on Friday, Lizzo kicked off her note, “I getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet."’

The Juice hitmaker went on to say, “All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it.”

Expressing her feelings, Lizzo added, “But I'm starting to feel like the world doesn't want me in it. I'm constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views... being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look... my character being picked apart by people who don't know me and disrespecting my name.”

“I didn't sign up for this shit- I QUIT,” she concluded her statement.

Soon after she announced that she quit her music career, her fans couldn’t hold their emotions and flooded the comment section with their support.

One fan wrote, “Take the break that you deserve, Lizzo. I love you as an artist, but I respect the human even more. Do what serves you first.”
